Introduction
We were contacted by Framingham Earl High School, who had a new student enrolling who was wheelchair-bound. Around the building, the new student would require wheelchair access, so they needed suitable doors to accommodate this. Of course, the team at RDS were able to assist with their facility’s renovation.
Problem
The entrances to their school were not DDA compliant, and they had a new student with wheelchair access who needed it. As a result, the student would find it difficult to enter school on the start date of education.
Solution
The team at RDS Doors completed a comprehensive final site survey to ensure that the correct sizes and specifications were permitted. Once they had received approval from the drawings they sent off, the RDS Team then supplied and installed three auto sliding doors and frames, which then enabled wheelchair accessibility for the student. Timer units were also built into all three door sets, allowing doors to be kept open at specific times of the day during the school year. The school has now met all the requirements and is now accessible for all pupils/visitors, and it is DDA compliant.
