INTRODUCTION
We were called out to COS, 222 Regent Street, London late at night – COS (Collection of Style) is a fashion brand which combines focus and attention to detail of ready-to-wear design within a good budget for customers. This flagship store opened in London in 2007. They needed urgent attention on their door lock.
PROBLEM
The door cylinder was damaged and the Large brass plated doors were too heavy to lift out of position easily. These are curved brass clad doors with each leaf 1.4m wide x 3.8m high weighing in excess of 200KG
SOLUTION
Attended the site at night, and started the work at 11 pm. We had security present to protect the goods inside the store whilst works were carried out. The team removed cladding on the bottom half of the door to expose the steel in which the lock was contained. We then cut the old lock out and welded in steel plates to fit the new lock. We fitted a new lock with the existing barrel, re-fitted cladding and the door left fully locking.
The client was delighted with the work it was completed in a timely manner by the RDS team and ready for the shop to open!
